Ras Sudr is about 60 km south of the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel. The town has developed a lot because of its oil refineries, the biggest ones in Egypt. This has also become a resort area. There are windsurfing opportunities and the resorts are filled with villas geared to families from Cairo.
